LastFile Privacy Policy

Privacy by design

LastFile is designed to work locally on your Mac. The application does not require a LastFile account, use advertising, or include analytics or tracking SDKs.

Data collected by the LastFile application

The LastFile application does not collect or transmit personal information to OSnop.NET. The application operates locally on your Mac.

File information

LastFile monitors folders that you explicitly authorize through macOS. It uses local file information to maintain your recent-files list. Recent file names and paths remain on your Mac and are not transmitted to OSnop.NET.

Folder access

LastFile monitors locations for which you grant access through macOS. You can manage watched folders in Settings, under Locations.

Local storage

LastFile stores recent file paths and detection times, watched-folder access permissions, folder preferences, ignored-file patterns, and application settings locally on your Mac. It does not use a LastFile cloud account or cloud synchronization service. Clearing the recent-files list removes that history without deleting your files.

Analytics and tracking

The LastFile application does not use analytics, advertising trackers, behavioral tracking, third-party tracking SDKs, or an integrated crash-reporting service.

Accounts

LastFile does not require or create a LastFile user account.

Cloud services

LastFile does not upload your recent-file information to an OSnop.NET cloud service. Its core functionality runs locally on your Mac.

Third-party services

LastFile is distributed through Apple’s Mac App Store. Apple may process information about purchases, downloads, updates, and other App Store services under its own terms and privacy practices. OSnop.NET does not control Apple’s processing. LastFile itself does not integrate third-party advertising or tracking services.

LastFile website

This website does not use analytics or advertising tracking. A necessary security cookie protects support submissions against forged requests.

Your browser may cache website and WebAssembly application files to load the site efficiently. Blazor also stores an application-resource version hash in localStorage to manage its runtime resources; it is not a visitor identifier. The website does not save your support message in localStorage or sessionStorage.

A supported language preference cookie, if already present, may be read; this version does not create one. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process ordinary connection information to operate and secure the website.

Support communication

If you contact LastFile Support, we process the information you provide to respond to and handle your issue, question, feedback, or feature request. When you use the support form, this includes your email address, selected topic, message, and name if provided. If you contact us directly by email, we process the information in your email and related correspondence for the same support purpose.

We obtain this information directly from you. In the web form, your name is optional. Your email address is required for an individual response, a topic is required to classify the request, and a message is required to understand and handle it. Without these required details, the form cannot submit your request; direct email remains available. We do not reuse support information for advertising, mailing lists, unrelated marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making.

Support form submissions are delivered by email through our configured mail service to the support mailbox. The website does not store submissions in a database or send an automatic copy to your address. INTERNET CZ, a.s. (FORPSI) provides our email infrastructure and processes Support correspondence as necessary for email delivery and mailbox hosting. Temporary server-side rate limits use connection addresses to protect the form from abuse, not for analytics.

Legal basis for Support communication

We process support communications on the basis of our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Our legitimate interests are providing support for LastFile, responding to questions, handling technical issues and bug reports, receiving and responding to product feedback, receiving and considering feature requests, and maintaining reasonable support records.

Data retention

Local application data remains on your Mac until you clear it, the application removes it during normal operation, or the relevant application data is deleted.

Support correspondence in our Support mailbox is normally retained for up to three years from the last communication in the relevant support conversation. This allows us to maintain continuity in support, understand recurring issues, and keep reasonable support records. Correspondence may be retained longer where necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims or where required by law.

Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights concerning your personal data, including access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, and data portability where applicable.

Right to object

You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on our legitimate interests. This includes the processing of your Support communication.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority, including in the country of your habitual residence, place of work, or the alleged infringement.

Children’s privacy

LastFile is a general-purpose macOS utility and is not specifically directed at children.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This policy may be updated if LastFile functionality or data practices change. The revision date above identifies the current version.
